Behind the sketch.
Dating to about 1857, the Lloyd House is often described as Old Town's oldest surviving frame residence. Its later Victorian porch reportedly reused columns from an earlier porch, a wonderfully practical bit of recycling that also shows how homeowners updated a respectable old house without starting over.
