The story

Behind the sketch.

Morris Bernstein came to Huntsville as a watchmaker and jeweler, then turned a talent for careful investment toward real estate. This modest Victorian cottage is one of several properties he developed in the 500 block of Clinton Avenue. Its bricks are believed to have been salvaged from demolished Memphis and Charleston Railroad buildings, giving the old railroad a second life in the walls of Old Town.
