Behind the sketch.

Built in 1888, the Darwin-Baughn House belongs to the exuberant Victorian chapter of Old Town. By then, Huntsville had recovered from the Civil War, rail connections were reshaping commerce, and homeowners were ready for houses with more visual personality than the restrained Federal cottages of an earlier generation.
