Identified in the historic district survey as the T. T. Terry House, 811 Pratt is a sturdy stucco bungalow from the period when Five Points was becoming a streetcar suburb. Its broad porch, tapered posts, brick piers, bracketed dormer, and grouped Craftsman windows give the house more presence than its modest scale suggests. An outside staircase once served a second-floor apartment, evidence that even attractive houses sometimes had to earn their keep. A century later, the porch became a stage. As Porch 1 for Five Points PorchFest, 811 Pratt now helps launch an annual neighborhood ramble of bands, sidewalks, lawn chairs, and sociable disorder.
